  3. As dread as its title suggests, and featuring the sadly neglected Skin, Flesh & Bones band, Dreadlocks Dread skanks from punchy, rhythm-heavy reggae to the deepest, dubbiest roots. This is indeed Big Youth at his dreadest and, if there's any doubt, check out the song titles -- "House of Dreadlocks," "Dread Organ," "Some Like It Dread," and so on. That last song is, 9/

Other than "Screaming Target," this is my favorite Big Youth lp, mixing his usual blend of irreverent humour ("Some Like It Dread" spoofing Goldlocks and the 3 Bears) with biting social commentary ("Marcus Garvey," "Train to Rhodesia,", and "Black Man Message" are all powerful tunes)over phat reggae grooves that to this day keep clubs rocking (I commonly mix Big Youth 5/5(10).
